ZDFIN CELEBRATES THE TERRIFIC TWO’S
South African business has been through a torrid time over the past two years and almost every one now has a covid story or two woven into their company narrative. “We’re incredibly thankful to have come through this period, stronger than when we started,” says Michael Schaefer, CEO of ZDFin.
“We launched at the height of the covid lockdown and as we celebrate our second anniversary this month, we are so thankful to have been able to expand our footprint nationally and build a decent size loan book in the process. The business has been phenomenally received by the public, strongly indicating the need for our service offering.”
ZDFin’s entry into into the market in June 2020, offering specialist finance for schemes, arguably changed the landscape of the industry. “People have lost faith in traditional institutions who don’t deliver on their promises,” Schaefer continues, “so are keen to work with industry professionals that they can trust and that they can hold accountable. Our model, is to work in partnership with schemes, delivering service beyond their expectations.”
“Our rates, costing and tailored offerings are more competitive than the other players in the market, which is beneficial to our clients and the greater market; we’re offering more choice and we have the added competitive advantage of years of practical expertise not easily matched. There really is no substitute for experience, especially in the property industry, especially the scheme market.”
The ZDFin offering is about tailor-making solutions with one or a combination of financial products such as project finance, specialist collections & levy and/or debtor finance. The role of Executive Managing Agent (EMA) is a more recent addition to their suite of services and one that is increasingly ‘gaining traction’, according to Schaefer. “Fortuitously, we have the skill set, expertise and capacity,” he adds, “which is proving to be a good introduction to schemes as to the other services we offer and can assist them with.’
“We are invested in whatever scheme we take on because we have the field experience and a track record of success. By working hand in hand with the scheme’s appointed Managing Agent (MA), we bring further benefit to the scheme as an external, impartial support.”
With their national footprint and the added value they bring through an in-house legal team and network of established and reputable partners such as managing agents, engineers, quantity surveyors, insurance specialists, maintenance contractors and valuers, ZDFin is able to offer smart financial and practical solutions for a growing list of management problems.
