Meet the Team

Goodman Baloyi

ZDFin Operations Manager, Goodman Baloyi has been working in the property industry for over four years. He accrued valuable working and management experience in in the banking call centre environment, with a two-year stint at African Bank as a Call-centre Supervisor.  His exposure to letting, building inspection and management, has equipped him well for the world of property management.

Goodman holds a diploma in Criminal Justice and Forensic Investigation from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) and a Banking NQF Level 4 Certificate Acquired from Chartall Business College and is currently a second year student at the University of Johannesburg, where he is studying towards a Diploma in Law (Paralegal).

When he’s not at his legal books, Goodman loves sports, reading and cooking.

Michael Schaefer (Founder)

ZDFin founder,  Michael is a former Director and co-Principal of Trafalgar property services, where he was the driving force behind Trafalgar’s financial services capability, while also overseeing Trafalgar’s Gauteng and Western Cape operations for 18 years.

After identifying an opportunity in the market to better cater for bodies corporate and scheme finance, an area grossly underserviced, he started ZDFin early in 2020.

Michael’s background in property management and property financial services positions him perfectly to assist schemes with their financial requirements and associated challenges.

Any time out from his busy work and travel schedule is spent either on his mountain bike or exploring the depths scuba diving.

Michelle Yutar

Michelle matriculated at Eden College Johannesburg and after completing a CIS degree in 2001 through the CIS institute, she set out on a career path in accounting.  Six years at Trafalgar Financial Services as Financial Manager provided invaluable opportunities to broaden her experience in both the property management and insurance industries.

Michelle joined the ZDFin team in July and is excited by the new challenges the fledgling company offers.

Michelle’s favourite way to spend her downtime is outdoors running, hiking and off-road riding or with her family exploring a new destination.

Nicola Schaefer

After completing her Matric in 2002 at St Theresa’s Convent in Gauteng, Nicola went on to earn her LLB at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in 2007.  Between 2008 – 2012 she earned her legal stripes at Anthony Hinds Attorneys and Nowitz Attorneys and was admitted as an Attorney in 2009.  Following her seven years at Trafalgar as a legal adviser she joined the ZDFin team in June 2020.

Besides being a Mom to two young daughters, Nicola loves the outdoors and action pursuits such as skiing and deep-sea diving.

Taylor Daniels

Having completed matric in 2013 Taylor immediately joined the property management industry, having been previously employed at Born Free Investments, A Byrne Associates and Trafalgar Property Management.

Taylor has in excess of 7 year’s experience in both the residential and sectional title property management industries.

She has completed numerous Sectional Title management and Homeowners Association courses including the well-known University of Cape Town’s Paddocks Sectional Title Course.

In her spare time, Taylor enjoys hiking, cooking, reading and spending time at the Natal Coast where she was born.

Taylor joined the ZD team in March 2021 as an in-house property manager for the ZDFin-owned property portfolio, to bring capacity, expertise, as well as additional practical experience to ZDFin’s bouquet of financial product offerings.

Vincent Duys

A proud alumnus of Pretoria Boys’ High School, Vince matriculated in 2009 and holds an LLB and BCom(Law) degree from the University of Pretoria.

Having been admitted as an Attorney in 2017, Vince’s natural leadership style and ‘can do’ attitude has earned him success in both private practice and in the corporate world. Previous experience at Trafalgar Property Management as part of a niche Sectional Title and Home Owner Association levy finance team and experience in corporate and commercial litigation and particularly sectional title and property-related matters, has stood him in good stead for his current position at ZDFin.

An avid sportsman and football fan, Vincent also has interests in music production, DJ’ing and fashion.
